It is a way to protect the internal components. Like mentioned, changing the fluid will help is it is a fluid issue. 1.5 Diesel problems! I use this car as a Driving School car. It continuely has lights that appear on the dashboard. The most unreliable car I have ever owned!!! My local garage is brilliant and they save me the plug-in fees of Nissan. My opinion of Nissan since having this car is going down the drain.
Belt tension is a bugbear, not just on the Juke DCi, it affects the 1.6 N/A engine in the Juke, Micra and Note too.Best to get it sorted. In an extreme case, it can take the belt idler (if fitted) and alternator/air-con compressor bearings with it if left unattended. Very expensive for the sake of a £10 belt.
Blocked DPF is very common. Loads of back pressure when turbo spools up. Should throw up light. Will need code for more info, remember codes can be miles out and are only a guide.. Don't do Google mechanics hard facts before replacing parts. The DCi has loads of problems so beware.!!

wiring harness damage can be broken down into a couple different things. almost all of which can be fixed. 1. damage from rodents/ animals. this does not always end it complete harness replacement, many times they will eat maybe 4-10 wires and you can solder in new sections of wire. 2. damage from chafing- wiring harness either never properlyThe 1.5 dCi is a Renault engine.
